London tobacco merchant. Elected as an opposition Whig for Glasgow Burghs, owing his election to Walpole. Followed the Duke of Argyll ([[Campbell, John (London)]]) in parliament, voting against the Hanoverians (1742). After Argyll's death voted with the Government, including for the Hanoverians (1743).
