Son of George Baillie and nephew of covenant leader Archibald Johnston of Wariston&lt;br /&gt;
Considered a man of 'great piety and virtue' by his cousin but also a troublemaker and conspirator who continuously ran afoul of the Scottish authorities. Baillie was among a group of Scottish dissidents who went to London in April 1683 with intention of instigating uprisings in England and Scotland. He was arrested on 26 June 1683 and sent back to Scotland where he was convicted of treason and executed.&lt;/div&gt;</summary>
