Son of Patrick Chalmers, minister of Boynie, Aberdeenshire.  Ordained a deacon and priest of the Church of England in London (1709).  Appointed to several charges in Essex; vicar of Fingringhoe (1709) and Nazeing (1761), and rector of Lamarsh (1717) and Wickham St Paul (1730).&lt;/div&gt;</summary>
