Read maths at Edinburgh University (1684). Travelled to Cambridge in 1685 where Craig published his first, of many, works. Graduated MA from Edinburgh (1687) before moving to London in 1689.&lt;br /&gt;
Published two other major mathematical works. Ranked among the originators of calculus. Elected fellow of the Royal Society (1711).&lt;br /&gt;
Craig's ecclesiastical career was spent in the see of Salisbury - Vicar of Gillingham Major (1696), collated in addition prebend of Durnford and canon of Salisbury Cathedral; collated prebend of Gillingham (1726), a cure formerly held by his elder brother, William.&lt;br /&gt;
Died at High Holborn, London (1731) and buried at St James's, Clerkenwell.&lt;/div&gt;</summary>
