Became sixth earl of Buchan through his first wife, Mary Douglas. Became one of lords of bedchamber after accession of Charles I. Erskine chiefly resided in London where he died in 1640, although he was buried at Auchterhouse, Forfarshire.&lt;/div&gt;</summary>
