+Educated at Aberdeen but received MD from Montpellier (1635). Fraser was incorporated at Cambridge in 1637 and admitted as a candidate of the College of Physicians of London in 1640 and as a fellow in 1641. Fraser attended Prince Charles as physician (1645). He was one of the principle correspondents of William Hamilton, earl of Lanark, forwarding his correspondence to the king. Fraser was arrested at an unknown date but released, fleeing to continent. He returned to England in 1657. Knighted (1660). Created baronet (1673) He received a warrant for the place of principal physician to the king in 1664, also receiving permission to build apartments in Greencloth Yard (part of Whitehall Palace).
