Eldest daughter of William Murray, 1st earl of Dysart, and inherited the title upon her father's death.&lt;br /&gt;

After marriage, expected to settle into life of country domesticity. Rather, as an energetic and ambitious woman &amp;quot;held court&amp;quot; at Ham House, and included Oliver Cromwell amongst her guests.
