Son of Christopher Seton, gem engraver, who was a pupil of Charles Christian Reisen. Practiced in London and became Director of the Society of Artists (1765). Died 1768.&lt;br /&gt;
His son, John Thomas, studied at the St Martin's Lane Academy and was a pupil of Francis Hayman. Embarked on tour of Rome (1758-9). For a time lived in Bath but also resided in Edinbrugh (1772-4). Travelled to Calcutta in 1775 but returned to Edinburgh where he presumably died.&lt;/div&gt;</summary>
