Received various appointments in Scotland: Commissioner justiciary for Highlands (1702), Equivalent (1707–9), receiver-general and cashier of customs and salt duties (1715–33). Because of connection with Montrose, Graham voted the Squadrone line in Union vote whereas rest of Grahams opposed Union.
