Apprehended as a vagrant in Norwich, 18 October 1756, but suspected of being a thief because £9 14s was found on his person. Described as "about Fifty Years of Age, 5 Feet 5 Inches high, wears an old Hat, and dirty Linen Cap, over it as dark brown Wig, his Beard pretty long, mixed with dark brown, grey, and red Hair, a patched Cloth-coloured old ragged loose Coat, ragged Leather Breeches, and old Shoes tied with Strings, and cut open on the Top".
