Professor of Philosophy at St Andrews (1620-1630). Made the switch to medicine, and became physician-in-ordinary to both Charles I and Charles II. Incorporated at Oxford (1646), and appointed Licentiate of the Royal College of Physicians of London (1649). Retired to Gosford, East Lothian (1662).
