Married Baroness Sempill and was created Lord Glasfoor for the natural term of his life only (1685). Abercromby's second wife was the widow of one of the Judges of the King's Bench. They were separated a few months after their marriage as Abercromby was imprisoned for debt in the Fleet. He died there in 1703 and was buried at St. Bride's, Fleet Street.
