Styled Lord Ruthven Fled to England and was sheltered by Queen Elizabeth. On accession of King James, was arrested and imprisoned in Tower of London for 19 years. Able to acquire books and studied medicine. Upon release in 1622, allowed to attend Cambridge. Became a distinguished physician and alchemist. Buried at St. George’s, Southwark 1652
