(also spelled Katharine). Many of her children by Cosmo were English born. Used personal and political situation to her advantage as a way to safeguard her family interest. Aligned with Hanoverians though the duke of Newcastle, who in turn needed her electoral support. Died in London, shortly after returning from America, in 1779. Buried in Elgin Cathedral with 1st husband.
