Second marquis of Montrose.  Captured during his father's campaign in Scotland (1645), and ultimately exiled to Flanders.  Returned to Britain, residing briefly in London (1652-1653) before moving to Scotland.  Adhered to Glencairn's Rising (1653-1654).  Secured restoration of his father's titles and lands (1661).
