Mentioned in examination and removal order of his wife, Mary, who was apprehended as a vagrant in Whitby, 26 May 1753, along with their children, Jane (9), Margaret (7) and Godfrey (1). Had been left by his family between Whitby and Robin Hood’s Bay when he fell sick. Ex-mariner, travelling from Colchester (where he was presumably discharged) to Dunbar, via Hull and Scarborough
