Moved to Broad Garth, Newcastle in 1737 but returned to Edinburgh in 1739. Used the press to advertise his lectures and publications on the subjects of natural and experimental philosophy, maths and astronomy. Published at least three monographs. Known to have been in London in September 1746 helping Henry Baker with astronomical work. He later settled in London in the 1750s, where he died at Castle Street, Oxford Market (1759).
