Son of Charles Gordon, solicitor general for Scotland. Educated at Corpus Christi, Cambridge. Entered at Middle Temple, 24 August 1733, and called to the bar, 26 October 1739. MP for Ayr Burghs 1747-49 through Campbell, John (London). Died 1749.
