Examines for settlement in St Martin in the Field, 1 May 1725. Aged 67. Originally from Scotland, where he married his wife, June, and moved with her to London c.1711. June has recently died, presumably in childbirth. Has six children, the eldest three of whom were presumably born in Scotland: including Ann (21, a servant Brigadier Franks in Enfield); Mary (19; servant in a chandler shop in Shug Lane); John (15, apprenticed to Mr Anneals, tailor in York Buildings); William (13), James (4) and Frederick (16 weeks). Occupation unknown.
