Mentioned in the settlement examination of his wife, Charlotte, at St Martin the Fields, 20 September 1739. Trained as a gardener in Scotland, but came to London to work c.1733. Married at St Martin's Church, 1734. Posted at some point before 1739 to St Helena as servant to Governor Pyke, since deceased.
