MP for Banffshire 1727-34. Spoke and voted against the Government (1730). At the following general election (1734) Duff switched sides and substituted his brother-in-law, James Abercromby, as MP of Banffshire. Duff was also made an Irish peer (1735). He died with title, Earl of Fife in 1763.
