Minister of Garvock (1619), Edinburgh (second charge) (c.1628) and Edinburgh (first charge) (1634). Supported Charles I's prayer book, and deposed by General Assembly (1638). Fled to Holland, living as a watchmaker. Moved to England, and became prebendary of Westminster (1661). Bishop of Aberdeen (1662).
