Examined as a vagrant at Marlborough, 26 January 1742. Born in Scotland, where she lived until she married John Read, a soldier and former shoemaker in Aberdeen. He has enlisted about 10 years previously, but has gone AWOL and abandoned his wife and daughter. Given vagrant's pass to Aberdeen.
