Followed James VI & I to London (1603) and established himself as a goldsmith there. On good terms with James, and his house thus became a rendezvous point for Scots arriving in London to petition the king. Known as the 'Jungling Geordie' (a pub on Fleshmarket Close, Edinburgh is named after him)
