Brought a package of Scots cloth worth c.£30 to Isle of Man, July 1690, only to have it confiscated because he allegedly did not have the correct papers. Claimed to have been victim of extortion by English customs collectors of Man (Mr Copley and Mr Dewey), who refused to return his goods except upon payment of a spurious fine (c.£8-10).
