Daughter of Hew Dalrymple and Grisel Craw. Spent time in a convent school in Europe (France or Flanders) before migrating to London and marrying John Eliot in 1771. Resided in Knightsbridge. Marriage ended when she embarked on affair with Arthur Annesley, eighth Viscount Valentia. Court proceedings turned Mrs Elliott into a celebrity. Remained in London having a number of affairs before travelling to France in 1779. Returned to London 1781, taking on name of Dally the Tall and beginning her career as one of London's most notorious courtesans. Divided time between London and France, but died in Ville d'Avray near Paris and was buried in Père Lachaise cemetery, Paris.
