Second Earl of Annandale. Also inherited title of third Viscount of Stormont (1642). Murray was a member of the war committee of Dumfriesshire and accompanied Montrose. Also participated in negotiations for the ‘Cromwellian Union’ and signed the Perthshire assent (1652). Retired to London, died without issue in 1658.
