Minister of Guthrie (1588) and St Vigeans (1691 x 1593). Bishop of Ross (1613) and Archbishop of Glasgow (1633). Supported Charles I's new Prayer Book (1637), and deposed by the General Assembly (1638). Fled to England, and died at York.
