Second Duke of Gordon. Styled marquess of Huntly, 1684-1715. In England at time of father's arrest. Allegiances complicated by marriage - Gordon's were staunch royalist Catholics, whilst wife came from a Protestant family. Summoned to Edinburgh 1715 to prove allegiance to government and helped co-ordinate Jacobite forces. In Scotland for remainder of life.
