First viscount of Kingston. Spent two years in France (1636-8) before travelling across Europe. Returned to Scotland in 1640. Refused to sign Covenant, went into exile to Holland and France. Went to London in 1647, employed on several commissions by Charles I. After Restoration, held various military positions in milita in Haddingtonshire. Died at Wittinghame 1691
Son George was also born at Seton, died London 1678.
