Fifth Earl of Winton. Travelled on Continent 1700-7. Returned to Scotland and raised troop of horse for Stuart cause. Took part in march into England and was captured at battle of Preston (1715). Imprisoned in Tower of London where he was sentenced to be executed. Somehow, Seton escaped imprisonment and fled to France. Settled and died at Rome in 1749. Mother of Charles was Margaret Maclear.
