Apprehended with his wife, Jane. Left Scotland about 2 months previously. Claims that ‘if Ursula Shannan be dead this Examinant is Intitled to the Town of Ballaness’. Is going to Yarmouth to get advice from a son, as well as to get some money to help in recovering the estate. Roof-slater by trade, but has been blind for the last six years. Examined as a vagrant and served with a removal order, 2 July 1750.
