Captain of the 46th Foot( 1741), Equerry to Prince of Wales (1742), Barrack master (Scotland), with rank of colonel (1748-68). Younger son and cousin of members in the Squadrone. Returned for Dysart Burghs (1734-41), voted with the opposition. Did not stand for re-election. Returned to Parliament on family's interest for Perth Burghs in by-election (1743-62). Voted with the Government on the Hanoverians. Financial troubles led to the loss of his seat. Died 1772.
