Educated at a private school in Chelsea. MP for Perthshire on interest of the Duke of Atholl. Consistently voted with the Government. Joined King in Germany (1743) and recalled from Flanders at the outbreak of the Forty-Five. Continued to attend Parliament after the peace. Died 1787
