Fought at the siege of York and at the battle of Marston Moor. Earl of Manchester then sent Crawford south to Sheffield, Staveley, Bolsover, and Welbeck. With the new modeling of the parliamentarian armies, Crawford and other Scots commanders resigned their commissions in the New Model Army. Remained in English service as governor of Ayelsbury.
