Admitted to Inner Temple, 27 May 1723. Secretary for Scotland to the Prince of Wales (1745-51). Chamberlain to principality of Scotland (1753-83). Succeeded to his father's seat, (Gordon, William (London)) as MP for Cromartyshire (1742-47). Voted with the Government. Died 1783.
