Examined for settlement in St Martin in the Field, 23 December 1729. Aged 28. Born in Argyllshire, but came to England c.1722 as servant to William Chair, cabinet-maker in Long Acre. Remained there for five years, on wages of variously £8 per year and 9s per week, plus food and lodging. Left service 1729, and has not worked as a servant since.
