Examined for settlement in St Martin in the Fields, 27 December 1752. Aged 27, and in the workhouse. Born in Shetland, but in London by early 1752, when she conceived an illegitimate child with one Thomas Steuart, a soldier in the Guards. The child, a son, was delivered in the shop of Mr Trim, grocer in the Strand (possibly Catherine's master).
