'30 Ocr. 1627 Item the saim day it is ordered & thought-good that James Chambers a Scotishman shallbe thus farr accepted of for an usher in the Gramer Schoole as that he shall excercise that place for a quarter of a yeare from [wd].timas next for trial and afterwards as his carriage shall be and good likeinge taken of him to have for his paines xiid to a quarter of Each Scholler in the schoole during the time he shall conteyne usher.'
