Mentioned in the settlement examination of his wife, Arabella, in St Martin in the Fields, 6 February 1739. Trained as a gardener in Scotland, but had moved to London to work by at least c.1735, when he married in the Fleet. Subsequently abandoned his wife at an unknown date.
