Daughter of Andrew Fletcher, Lord Milton (d.1766). Educated at Miss Aylesworth's school in Chelsea (1742-45). Played an important role in the circle of young men who were to become the intelligentsia of the Scottish Enlightenment. Died shortly after childbirth in 1758.
