Examined for settlement in St Martin the Fields, 20 February 1728. Born in Scotland, but moved to London c.1688, where she married William Hayes (either a Dutchman or a German). He died soon thereafter, and so Ann worked as a yearly hired servant. Most recently spent 11 years (1717-28) as a live-in servant to James Scott in Vine Street with 50s per year in wages, plus food and lodging. Left his employment in March 1727, and has not worked as a servant since.
