Countess of Roxburghe, daughter of Patrick, third Lord Drummond and Elizabeth Lindsay. Was among the few women attendants who accompanied Queen Anne to London in 1603. Appointed first lady of the bedchamber and was in high royal favour until 1616-17. Activities at court shaped by her Roman Catholicism - close ties to Spain. Queen insisted on the Countess' retirement from court due to her husband's aspirations. Little it known about the intervening fourteen years. Returned to court in 1631 as governess to Princess Mary. Died in London 1643.
