Graduated University of Edinburgh 1615. Nominally practiced as a physician. In 1625, he travelled to London to have himself officially appointed joint Clerk to the Privy Council(a post held by his father, James, from 1599-1640). Petition must have been successful as he took the oaths in 1627. Died 1637.
