Will proved 9 November 1651. Kinsmen Andrew and Walter Hay named as executors. Leaves planations in Barbados and Antigua to his nephew, Alexander Powich (?), and leaves three acres of land, probably in Scotland, to Sir James Hay. Cash bequests - of 10,000 merks Scots to Sir James Hay, £200 Sterling as future marriage portion of Elizabeth, daughter of William Hay, clothworker of London, £300 Sterling to Elizabeth Irvinge (?), London, and £10 Sterling to servant John Briggs - to be paid by selling off Hay's estate at Stockley Park, Staffordshire
