Third Lord Spynie. Opposed surrender of King Charles I to English parliament. Led regiment into England in 1651. Captured at Battle of Worcester and imprisoned in Tower of London until 1654. Returned to Scotland. Sat in Parliaments of 1663, 1669 and 1670. Died 1671.
