Minister of Garvock (1619), Edinburgh (second charge) (c.1628) and Edinburgh (first charge) (1634). Supported Charles I's prayer book, and deposed by General Assembly (1638). Fled to Holland via London, living as a watchmaker. Moved back to England, and became prebendary of Westminster (1661). Bishop of Aberdeen (1662).
