Mentioned in the settlement examination of his wife, Johanna, at St Martin in the Fields, 21 December 1738. Trained as a barber in Scotland, but came to London to practise as such by at least c.1714, when he married at London Stone. Entered military service, c.1718, and left his wife; she has not seen him since, and does not know if he is alive or dead.
