Mentioned in the settlement examination of his wife, Dorothy, at St Martin in the Fields, 18 January 1742. Claims to be a Highlanders. Trained as a tailor in Scotland, but in London by at least c.1726, when he married at St Bartholomew the Great. Initially rented a house in Harvey Court, the Strand at £26 annual rent, but left c.1729. Abandoned his wife, c.1740, and possibly returned to Scotland.
