Examined for settlement in St Martin in the Fields, 25 November 1737. Aged 59. Partially trained as a tailor in Scotland, but came to London c.1698 and completed his training in London, bound for four years to Mr Fisher of Hartshorn Lane. Completed apprenticeship, but subsequent career obscure, but ended up in the workshouse. In Kinsale, Ireland in c.1712, where he married Eleanor. Eldest son, John (b.c.1715) is a sailor; daughter, Eleanor (b.c.1721) is a servant; and younger son, Thomas, (b.c. 1725) lives at home.
